WHEN DOING MY HAIR AT HOME WITH A BOXED COLOR, WHY DOES MY HAIR TURN OUT DIFFERENT THAN THE COLOR ON THE BOX?

There are many reasons why the color turns out different than on the box..

1. You need to know what color your natural hair is and what the underlying color is.

2. You need to determine what tonal value you want

3. If the hair is too dark, you cannot lighten the hair with a single application..it will cause it to turn orange red or yellow.

As you can see, hair color is an art, you need to know what tones and values to mix together to produce the right combination. It takes many years of practice to perfect a hair colorist skills. Do yourself a favor and see a professional before you try doing the color yourself. It can save you a lot of time, aggravation and money to repair it.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS I SHOULD TAKE TO GET THE RIGHT STYLIST?

1. Always ask someone that has a great cut, where they go?

2. Determine if the stylist is proficient with your type of hair.....curly, fine, coarse.

3. Make an appointment with the stylist for a consultation to see is you are on the same page with each other.

4. Bring photos of styles you like, sometimes you might describe something and it means something totally different to the stylist.

5. Make sure you have a good understanding with the designer.

CAN YOU TELL ME THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS I HAVE FOR HAIR EXTENSIONS?

There are many different products and applications for hair extensions..

The most common are Single strand applications...these are used to create volume, length and color/hi-lights. We carry two brands "Great Lengths" and "Hair Dreams". They are guaranteed for 4 to 6 months, and can be treated just like your own hair. A consultation is needed to quote a price.

Another option is a sew-in application. Your natural hair is braded in small brades and wefts of hair are placed on each brade and sewn in. This procedure will last for approximately one month and then they need to be tightened. This method is great when your hair is very short and you want length..

The last option we offer is glue-in tracks. Wefts of hair are placed and attached to your hair with special glue. If you are attending a special affair and need more hair or length for your favorite hairstyle, they will give you what you need. They are not permanent and will come out when washed.
