Spa Uptown is pleased to be named among the best spa/salons in the east by ELLE Magazine. Featured in its June issue, Spa Uptown was described as an "Open glass structure (allowing) the majesty of nature to converge with the spa, creating a balance and calm, within a pulsing city location." The article also noted our award winning colorists and designers, and a full menu of spa and specialty services.

Spa Uptown was also featured in a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article (5/17/99) on the popularity of Spa therapy. The article highlighted the medicinal and detoxifying benefits of spa services like our aromatherapy massage, light therapy treatment, the hydratant 5 phase renewal treatment and the sea salt glo.

SPA UPTOWN was featured on Fox sports station for offering to give five flood stricken families a day at the spa. They will be given hair, spa or skin services in January along with Dinner at The Marriott's Steelhead Restaurant. There will be flowers, gifts and other items donated by local vendors to make thier day a little brighter.

Geri Mataya, has accepted a position on the Board of Directors for Intercoiffure America/Canada. Intercoiffure is an international association of the finest hair and spa members in the world.

Geri and Steven did a high powered performance on Stage at the Waldorf Astoria, in New York City for Intercoiffure and the Unreel Co. Izear, Angela, Chelsea, Steven, Amanda, and Mary, attended the Paris, Mondial Show where they observed the fashion shows and the newest trends for the 2005 spring season.
