Dear Spa-Uptown and Geri in particular,

About 8 months ago I came in for a consultation for a hair loss problem that has been chronic and basically uncurable. It is due to a genetic condition that is as of yet unalterable. A Buddhist friend of mine (I am also a Buddhist) referred me to Geri. I had been struggling on a day-to-day basis with using Raquel Welch's clip in extensions but had noticed that gradually my hair condition had worsened. I had been through an amicable yet nonetheless stressful divorce and am the mother of a small child. I was finding that my hair condition had been affecting a big part of my life and my sense of poor self-worth.

And though I still struggle with some of those insecurities, Geri helped situate me and chose a wig for me. I immediately received compliments from many people and it saved me so much time in the morning. Gradually I was able to feel more confident and felt like I had more energy. What most impressed me was not just the kindness shown to me by Geri and anohter co-worker with her, but also the way she was able to help me to choose a wig that I would be happy with and that was right for me. I felt vulnerable and scared and did not know how to resolve this problem.

Geri helped me make the best decision for me and though somedays I have a bad "wig" day, mostly I find that people are more comfortable with me since I hassle less about the whole ordeal. I am also open with people who sometimes ask me about my hair, just to tell them of the positive experience that I have had. Ironically, it sounds odd to say that a place/person could have such a huge impact but then again, it did. In effect, by helping me it helps anyone else I can make a positive impact on.

Here is another kudo from a new guest at the Spa. Her experience with our esthetician, Annie and our massage therapist, Jessica, was one of ease and comfort... our aim to please fulfilled!

I came in today for a facial and massage -- I had never been to a spa before and was a bit anxious about the process. Annie and Jessica were FANTASTIC -- they put me to ease and made me a believer in spas -- everything from the moment I met each of them to the moment I walked out the door made my discomfort vanish - the way they spoke to me, the way the checked on me during my treatments -- everything was perfect. Please share my comments with them and note that I will refer everyone I know to Annie and Jessica! They are two staff members you don't want to lose! In a day where customer service is often lost in the shuffle - they made it an artform!
