Possessing the qualities of determination and leadership, combined with a need to fill Lani Lazzari, at 13 years old, suffered with a skin condition that left her longing for a product that was good for her skin, as well as a product that was fun and easy to use, and after doing research and much experimentation, Lani produced her first batch of Simple Sugars, an all natural body, face and foot scrub product. After having great results from the products, Lani decided to give her scrubs as holiday gifts in 2005. Everyone loved the scrubs, and soon Lani found herself with a high demand, often needing to employ her mother, grandmother and aunt in the creation of this well-received product.

Her business has grown considerably since that first holiday season, and as of July 2006, Simple Sugars has been registered as a fictitious entity under the LLC, Lanibaloo Creations.

At this stage of the enterprise, Lani has turned to Powerlink, a business mentoring program designed to increase the growth and profitability of women owned businesses. The program links a woman business owner with an Advisory Panel, recruited from the local community, to work with her at no cost for one year for help and advice on how to further grow her business.

Geri Mataya, Owner of Spa-Uptown, as a member of Ms. Lazzari's Powerlink Protégé Advisory Team, would like to invite you to help support this young woman entrepreneur in her endeavors. Through April, Spa-Uptown will be featuring Simple Sugars Scrubs in all of our Spa Salt Glo and Body Scrub Treatments. For February the featured "flavors" will be Sugar & Spice, and Vanilla.
